POCOMOKE MIDDLE SCHOOL HOME OF THE BRAVES
The staff and students of Pocomoke Middle School are pleased to announce that Ms. Undrea Blake has been named the 2012 WeXL Teacher of the Year. In her sixth year at Pocomoke Middle School, Ms. Blake teaches 6th grade Mathematics. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Mathematics and a Master’s in Administration and Leadership. At Pocomoke Middle School, she is a member of the Minority Gender Achievement Team, a mentor, and serves as an after school instructor and club sponsor. Ms. Blake is active in the local community through her involvement with the Worcester County Parks and Recreation Department, the Sahara Academy, and St. Matthew United Methodist Church. A colleague of Ms. Blake states, “Ms. Blake is the epitome of teaching. She consistently goes far and beyond the call of duty. What Ms. Blake does for the students at PMS is not for fame, rank, or status. It is for the well being of the whole student. I admire her perseverance. She inspires me to be a better teacher.” One of her students states, “Ms. Blake doesn’t let her students fail. She cares for all of them.” Ms. Blake will represent Pocomoke Middle School in the Worcester County Teacher of the Year Program.
