Eighth grade students receive six periods of academic subjects per day. Each class is a double period and they receive Social Studies and Science on a rotating A/B day schedule.

ILA
We are finishing up the science fiction unit and moving on to a short unit on persuasion. Students will examine the use of persuasive techniques through advertisements, essays and speeches.
**REMINDER** Reading logs are due signed by a parent every Friday. Mrs. Butler issues grade printouts on Monday and they should be returned with a parent signature by Wednesday. Ms. O'Brien sends home grade sheets every two weeks.
Pre-Algebra
- Students learned about integers and how to use the orders of operations.
We will be working with equations and linear relationships.
Algebra - Students learned the properties of real numbers and the orders of operations. We will cover linear relationships and equations.
SCIENCE
We have had a great time learning about electricity and magnetism. We
are beginning a unit on Chemistry. Students will be learning about atoms,
elements, mixtures and compounds.
**REMINDER** November 19 - Science Fair Projects due at PMS; November 22 and 26 - Projects will be on display at PMS; November 28 - Worcester County Science Fair will be held at Snow Hill Middle School at 6:00 PM.
US HISTORY
The unit on the American Revolution has come to an end. We are moving on to the birth of our glorious nation. We will see how the early presidents met, head on, the challenge of running a new country.
